Warfield, Benjamin Breckinridge

Warfield, Benjamin Breckinridge
(1851–1921)
   Theologian.
Warfield was born in Kentucky and was educated at Princeton and in Leipzig. He became a Presbyterian minister and he subsequently taught at Pittsburgh, before returning to Princeton Theological Seminary in 1887. There he succeeded the son of Charles hodge. He wrote a number of books including The Lord of Glory, The Plan of Salvation and Counterfeit Miracles. A man of great learning, he held rigidly to the doctrine of the verbal inerrancy of Scripture and he wrote constantly against those who accepted the findings of biblical criticism. His works enjoyed a wide circulation.
